Board Game Design & Prototyping
The Pirate Game
Inspired by Serpientes y Escaleras but flipped — you start at the top and race to the bottom, so ladders drag you back up (bad) and slides speed you down toward the treasure (good). A burning ship sends you back to the start, added after my kids asked for it — and when the first one landed there and cried, that became the next design brief: add a rescue mechanic.
Slot-Spillet — Castle Game
A medieval castle game designed as a gift for my wife's uncle, who loves playing with my kids. Built on the pirate game's foundation but richer — dragons to defeat with dice, dungeons to escape with the right numbers, and sword duels that play differently depending on whether you're leading or trailing. My kids insisted on car tokens to move around the board.
Denmark → Mexico Travel Game
A birthday present for my oldest son, who asked if I could make him a board game with airplanes. The answer was a flight from Denmark to Mexico — our family's journey made into a game, with airports, storms, lost luggage, engine fires, and a card deck that can save you or ruin your day. The destination is always Mexico. A personal travel-themed board game connecting my Danish children to their Mexican roots.
Inclusive Design & Visual Communication
10. Klasses Kogebog
My wife was helping with the cooking class at Solhjorten, a school for children with different needs. Her plan was to print the recipes as a farewell gift for the kids. I volunteered to make something more — and spent several nights drawing every ingredient and tool by hand, designing a colour-coded navigation system so every child could use the book independently, regardless of their reading level.
Physical Design & Making
Casita — A-Frame Children's Playhouse
A fully engineered and hand-built A-frame playhouse — from CAD technical drawings with precise cut lists and angles, to a complete timber structure raised on posts in the garden.
Custom Lounge Chair — Steel & Cord
A contemporary lounge chair designed from the ground up — bent steel rod frame with white cord weaving, documented in multi-view engineering drawings with precise angles, radii, and material specs.
Digital Products & Interactive Design
Bjørn's Cake — Browser Game
A browser-based children's game developed at KEA — help a bear collect ingredients for an apple pie before dark, while avoiding bees. Built with a full state machine, paper prototype, original assets and sound.
Monsterator — Monster Creator
An interactive web tool for building custom monsters by mixing body parts — with random generation, reset, share, and save. Demonstrates modular component and generative design thinking.
